• Middle school transition activities
• Career exploration experience: students will engage in an interactive exploration focused on careers, career pathways, and/or career clusters.
• Career interest inventory & reflection: students will complete & reflect upon an interest inventory to learn about possible careers aligned with their interests.
• College Bound Scholarship: students will learn about the College Bound Scholarship including eligibility, benefits and implications.
• College, Technical, Trade, Military field trip/experience: students will engage in an interactive exploration & learning focused on postsecondary education including college, technical, trade schools and/or military.
• High school graduation requirements introduction: students will be introduced to high school graduation requirements.
• High school options:
  • Neighborhood & Innovative school options: student swill learn about different high school options within Highline Public Schools and how to apply.
  • Elective course options: Students will use Interest Inventory & graduation requirements to inform elective course selection for 9th grade.
• Post-secondary, Trade, Technical, Military options: Students will learn about different options for continuing their education & training beyond high school.

The High School & Beyond Plan (HSBP) is a personalized, comprehensive guide that assists students in aligning their high school journey with their future career and education goals. Starting in eighth grade, students embark on a process of self-discovery and career exploration, culminating in the development of a four-year plan, a professional resume, and clearly defined career and education objectives by twelfth grade. The HSSB ensures students are well-prepared for a smooth transition into postsecondary education or career paths upon graduation.
