COVID Testing Information for PMS Athletics

Hello Panther Families,

Your registration for Winter 2 Sports (Wrestling, Girls Basketball, Cheer) has been received. On Dec. 17th, the Washington State Depatment of Health announced new Covid testing requirements for Winter Sports. Before, unvaccinated athletes were required to be tested at least twice a week, before a contest. The new requirement is for ALL athletes, regardless of vaccination status to be tested 3 times a week.

At the moment, this testing will take place after school (before practice or game) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the PMS gym area.

Peninsula Community Health is partnering with NKSD to come in and faclilitate the testing for PMS. In order for your student to be tested, they need to be registered with PCH. Here is a link to their registration:

This creates a patient portal for your student for the purpose of documentation and they (PCH) will bill your insurance with the expectation there will be no out of pocket expenses to the family.

Students will be bringing home a consent form that authorizes PCH to share the results with me. If you would rather have PCH share the results with you, then you would need to contact me before your student could participate that day.

If you choose to have your student tested elsewhere by a medical practitioner, it will be required that the results of the test are forwarded to the Athletic Office that day in order for the student to be eligible to participate.

Please contact the Athletic Office at (360) 396-3227 with any questions. After going through this with the middle school team for the last season and the High School Winter sports teams I have learned that there will not be any exemptions to this state requirement. At home tests are not an option at this time.

Thank you in advance for taking care of this requirement. I apologize for all of the extra inconvenience it brings to an already chaotic time.
