Holt-McDougal online math book access:

Description: Students will be using the Holt McDougal Math Program to work through the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) which include:

·          7.RP Ratios and Proportional Relationships

·          7.NS The Number System

·        7.EE Expressions and Equations

·        7.G  Geometry

·        7.SP Statistics and Probability

Students will also use the Standards for Mathematical Practices (SMP) as they work through the CCSS.

  • Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them
  • Reason abstractly and quantitatively
  • Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others
  • Model with mathematics
  • Use appropriate tools strategically
  • Attend to precision
  • Look for and make use of structure
  • Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning


IMPORTANT: Students will not have a textbook to take home. The entire textbook will be accessible on-line using the student username and password provided by the teacher.  Math Website:

Classroom Expectations

In 7th grade math students will be expected to:

·        Make Good Decisions

·        Solve Problems

·        Show Respect

Homework Expectations

Homework will be posted on the teacher website weekly. Late homework is accepted.  ***Students will be expected to complete unfinished homework.

Absent Work:

The student is responsible for completing homework assignments and assessments when absent.

Grading System

Grades are administered at the end of each quarter based on the following percentages:



(quizzes, unit tests, tasks, and projects)



(bell work, daily homework)

Grading Scale

 94-100%  A

 87-89%   B+

80-83%   B-

74-76%   C

67-69%   D+

 <60        F

 90-93%    A-

 84-86%   B

77-79%   C+

70-73%   C-

60-66%   D


Editing and Retakes

Students will be expected to edit and retake any assessment with a score of less than 75% in order to demonstrate mastery of the standards. Retake assessment scores may not exceed 90%.
